Seek the light...

This image was taken by my friend during the interval of a show I was photographing (Australian Burlesque Festival*).  I love it!  I love it because it is exactly what I wanted it to be when I set the shot up.
A photographer friend recently told me that I'm very good at seeing the scene, visualizing it before capturing** it and creating it.  Manifesting it.

That's actually true of me as a person.  In photos I always seek the light.  In life too.

This was me during the day, just hanging at home and finding the light.

*my images can be found on Dusk Devi Vision

**I don't like the word "capture" to describe the moment light froze and a photograph was created.  There has to be a better word.
Any suggestions?
Freeze?  Sounds cold.

MORE IMAGES AFTER THE JUMP!

I can't remember what was so funny.

This is very funny

I wore this to photograph the inaugural Australian Burlesque Community Awards, last Sunday night.
This retro 80s jumper is sequin glory!

Purple lurex thigh-high socks! Deserve an exclamation mark or two!!

Vintage coat.  Vintage earrings.

What brilliant talent in front and behind the camera lens.

Capture- to hold. Hmmm...I don't know an alternative. The image gets caught and locked up motionless. I'll think about it.

xo.
