Bohtical & Versatile

It was quite a coincidence that I was wearing nautical colours and hanging around boats [as per usual] today. Truly. I only noticed this when I viewed the images.

Have seen many nautical inspired blog posts and editorials recently and although I do love the unfettered, sharp, contained elegance of a [fashion version of the] nautical look, it's just not me.  Despite the fact that I am a nautical gal.

My nautical look is more rainboho J beach babe.  Or boho nautical...bohtical!!  [geddit??]

This is a vintage poncho worn as a skirt, have also worn it as a dress, versatile yes?
Speaking of versatile, after the jump...there's an award...I was tagged by the golden Aphrodite, Rachel of Inspiration in Italy... I love this woman, she is beautiful mind, body and soul.

AH, the colours are so cheerful and you are so bright and exciting, too. I am in love with this ensemble; ah, where would we be without colours?;-)

Yayyyy i am the first person to compliment you this time!!
The minute I saw the pics I knew what you'd meant with Bohtical.
I just love this oh so BOHO CHIC in the completely nautical mode!
The vintage poncho is exotic, this post is a visual treat.
Thanks for building my confidence in breaking the unwritten rule of dressing for an occassion. Now on I follow my instincts too..:D
U rock!!
:D

grr, I thought I'd just left a comment but now I'm not sure if it worked... anyway great gloves again, and I'd like to see how you wear YOUR sporran (not exactly surprised to find out that you have one!!)

that skirt is just divine!!!

Bohtical! Geddit, ya clever lady! Thought there was a spelling error there.
That poncho as a skirt, how utterly inspired, almost Navajho in colour and shape, just gorgeous. That cobalt blue is just glorious, it makes me so happy....in fact everything about this post makes me happy, it's so dull, grey and darned British here today.

Oh! I am so happy whenever I see a new Dusk post pop up on my Bloglovin' ... your pictures and words always brighten up my day.

As for the nautical look, I think some people (especially in fashion editorials) look GREAT, but I feel the look is just not 'me'. I've posted a couple of nautical looks on my blog but they just felt far too out of my comfort zone. You do, however, look fabulous :)

And thankyouthankyou for passing on the award! ♥

Also, have I told you yet that I am dying for you to join Twitter so we can have Dusk-updates in between blog posts? I'm going to keep pestering you until you join. Heehee :P

I love it! A poncho as a skirt! Very clever and chic! Poncho's are one of my fav pieces for fall every year. xoxo

Absolutely geddit ;) Magical as always. Of course you have a unique dressing sense but you pictures and poses are so grand and mesmerizing that I forget to notice what you are wearing .. I am spell bound by your smile and expressions! :) Congrats on the award!

P.S. You always bring a smile to my face when you say you love my honesty. Mostly people call me 'too frank' and ' too straight forward'. It has always been used as my short coming [by others!] I however, have a compulsive disorder to speak my mind. Thank you for appreciating what others think is actually a flaw!

YOU ROCK!

Call me a loser, but I read everyone's comments! Lol. I agree with everyone. You are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
Definitely loving your version of nautical style.

As for the fashion version of nautical style, it's how do you put it... very, BLAH. Just blue and white stripes with a sailor's pin embroidered here or there, or probably everywhere.

I love the poncho, so very homey, and you make it your own. You owned that poncho! *fashion speak much*

Love it & love you!
I will definitely take your advice momma bear :)

oh and i forgot to answer your question about my post...the red thing on my back under the blue romper is my bikini strap... and i dont take my own pictures...but lately ive started taking the street fashion pictures myself and will in the future..

most of my pics r taken by my photographer friends..shraddha, anjali, etc...sometimes [like the blue romper pics] are just taken by some non photographer friends of mine... i tell them how to take the pics, i pose they take pics..hehe...very tedious by fun process... im sure u know...incase i dont find anyone to take pics of me ill be using a tripod, although i have never used ti so far

ur doing great with your pictures taken by tripod though hunny...seriously..

much love

Hola lovelies! Thank you for your wonderful words! PLease PLEASE forgive me for my very short bursts of responding to all your comments.
I am actually better at visiting and reading and enjoying your blogs than I am at replying! I will have to get my act together and reply to your comments soon, just quickly for now;

@ Leia - oh honey, I don't want to join the Twittering! mainly because brevity is NOT my forte!! I am seriously incapable of writing in short bursts! My text messages are essays. SMS-says!!
....maybe... I constantly update my facebook page though...

@ Sassy - the poncho's neck hole is small so my womanly :) hips holds it up!

@ Sovina - thank you so much for your lovely words and I very much appreciate you commenting!

@ Cheryl and @ Sabine - thank you lovelies!

@ Garakami - missed you!

@ Prutha - Cheryl missed this and I think you may have too because I was trying to be clever and subtle but it's backfiring! I awarded this award to you too hon!

@ Jemina - Woman you are FIERCE!
