Meshed Up...

Awwww. I lost a follower today. L

I was chuffed to officially have over 100 hundred followers (hate that term).  100 and 1.  I was thrilled!!!  But alas... someone decided that I am not worth their time and that's fine, it's fine but you know, I'm human ["totally weird"] so feel a little... um... rejected.   I know.  I'm a dweeb.
...but thank you to all of you who do follow this blog... thank you, thank you, thank you!  I am humbled that are so many lovely people actually interested in what I have to say or wear.

Anyway, I was taken aback at my reaction to losing a reader.  In the physical world, I really don't give a toss (emphasised by the insouciant tossing of my mesh skirt above) if someone dislikes me, or worse, for no apparent reason other than I irritate them.  In this case, what other people think of me is none of my business.  It's their problem.
...but I was actually fighting feelings of hurt.  I actually spent more than a gazillionth of a second wondering why this person, a virtual (ha!) stranger, didn't like me anymore.  woah!  That is seriously messed up!!

I'm over it now.  I don't dwell on what I don't have.  I'm grateful for what I do have.  And that's you darling reader.  Thank you for being here.  We mesh well yes?

wearing:
black mesh silver sequinned home-made skirt (worn over flared leggings) * ivory cotton denim vest-jacket * clear perspex wedge espadrilles (I have had these Michael Kors shoes for a long loooong time) * 'egg' ivory bangle * black silver sequinned wool bangle made by me.

...Oh by the way, you may have noticed (if you comment) that I have done away with word verification (as have many others)... much easier isn't it??  But damn that spam!
That's why I still keep 'blogger approval'!  Aren't the spam comments funny??!!  eg:
"Might you folks have a the Facebook as well as a twit follower supporter website? My husband and I did some searching for 1 on Squidoo and MySpace but couldn’t stumble on one of them. I’d like to turn into a fan! [URL deleted]"
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...and.... do you like the stars?  Or are they irritating?

Well, I am CHUFFED to be your 101st follower. I have 14 followers and two of them are me!! I'm not even sure how that happened but I think it's hilarious! I love the stars - not distracting at all! Sarah xxx

Of cos I love them stars! And don't worry about losing a follower, in my experience you will gain two more in no time! But I get what you mean about feeling rejected, I feel that all the time too when I lose a follower!

p.s. You looked like a star yourself in this lovely glittery skirt! Adorable, darling:)

I love the star and you and your smile. Gorgeous!!!

And I know the feeling of 'virtual rejection' ... hehe .. but I realized that every time I lost one I gain 5 others ... So it is a fair deal. Also I unfollow people all the time too, not to hurt them but 'coz their matter doesn't appeal to me and I have nothing positive to add to their blogging experience. So why be a hinderance in their journey ... and let go. Also I am obsessed with organization and cleanliness so too many unnecessary people also seem like clutter in my life. I have this uncontrollable urge to have people I value all around me in all shape and form! :) Phew, please excuse the useless banter!

Oh dear. I lose a follower at least once a week! I try not to dwell on it - sometimes people follow you in the hopes that you'll follow them back, and when you don't, they 'unfollow.' I just try to remember that there are so many lovely, genuine people who DO care what I have to say... and that makes up for it! :)

The stars are pretty. And spam! I don't have word verification or comment approval, and I've noticed that lately I've been getting lots of harry potter spam... it's like they KNOW I dislike the whole harry potter obsession and they're TRYING to bug me! ;)

You look gorgeous. That skirt is phenomenal!

I love your honesty in saying that loosing a follower hurt you. It is normal. But how many of us would ever say/admit that?
Having said that, I would like to quote from Art of Living, Guruji- Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji. He says, "Do not be a football of other person's opinions".
To explain this is- Supposing a person gives you 10 compliments and adds 1 negative comment. Your mind would dwell on that 1 negative comment and you would ponder as to why he/she said so. It would not think about 10 compliments that you got.
Similarly you did not rejoice in 100 followers but dwelled on loosing 1.
I wish I had 10 id's. I would have followed you with each ID. Cheer up and SMILE.

Backwards, I am. I'm responding to the Mambo Hula shirt post here and must say it's rocking and your legs are the bomb! I love seing your gloriously sunny shots whilst your poor Brit pals are huddled under layers of woollens and scraping the ice off our car windows. xxx
