Trepose

Tree Pose aka Tadasana:

- increases flexibility of the ankles, knees and hip joints and releases abdominal tension
- improves posture and balance
- improves concentration and focus
- reinforces confidence and restores repose...

© theDUSKzone 2010

One must always strive for repose.  To be as inherently strong, calm, grounded and flexible as a tree.  To be a tree...

Have had to draw from my 'Trepose' lately, I have been buser than usual... no, no... that's not true, I'm always busy but I am good in that I have lazy times too do do 'nothing', otherwise what's the point of being busy??
Astrology Sceptics look away now please.
...planetary alignments being such, there is a HUGE change afoot, Saturn is on the move, a culmination which feels a bit like the crescendo of water boiling and then... it stops.  And then it's just hot.  And ready.  Which sounds risque if you're in that frame of mind, which is always a good thing...

Anyway... I've been getting a few comments and emails about age and energy and attitude, which I will try to address in my upcoming posts.
Just quickly, re 'age and getting older'... The way I see it, the older I get, the better I get.  You know why?  It's elementree....

(Please note that the above pose is a Bikram Yoga Tadasana, practised differently to other forms of Yoga.
Please also note that it was a cold and rainy day and my old bones were not as limber as usual hence why my foot is not where it usually is, no, not my mouth but further in to my body. I need to clarify such things because I am a vain fool.)

cowl hooded emerald ruffle wool dress * black cable knit keggings divinely warm * OTK boots *

I have such problems with this pose. Almost every other pose? I rock them. Tree pose and I am just not friends yet .....................

Love the emerald green, love the pose, and am excited to see what you'll be telling us about age and energy and attitude! I agree that as people get older, they get wiser and often more beautiful. Inner beauty radiates outwards, whether people believe it or not!

Oh, that picture is incredibly cool (I love the colour of your top, by the way).
And I love your attitude. I agree, age = fabulous-ness as far as I'm concerned (despite my youth).

p.s. re: comments, write whatever you like, however often you like, whenever you like. Don't stress, I love hearing from you and your opinion whenever. :) Oh and I have some Ava Gardner for you in the next few days. ;)

Lovely gif! I love the tree pose. When I taught Ashtanga yoga we worked on slinging our arm behind the back to hold the foot and bend forwards; but this can be quite stressful for the knee, I found.
Doing the pose in high-heeled boots certainly gives it extra chic!

I've only just mastered the tree pose as my prosthetic hip tends to make me a bit wobbly! Perhaps I'd be more elegant in sexy boots like yours?
"The older I get, the better I get"...I reckon us 40-somethings should have that printed on a tight-fitting teeshirt to show off our fabulousness!

Wow, that's an incredible animation...I've done a few yoga classes in my life and discovered I have very little balance....you are so skilled to be able to do that in those heels!

This is definitely my favorite pose :) I was almost a natural at it ... that's why love it even more! ... The green top looks lovely on you ...

I am totally with you on ... the other you get ... the better you get! ... People who don't learn from their own past are the biggest fools! :)

You have been busy, it's apparent from the lack of posts ... but you are being missed! *hugs*

This particular shade of green, I dunno what its called, is one of my most loved colors. So needless to say I love the top!

The wonderful thing about this blog is not just the style ideas, for its more of what you write...and you connect it all so gracefully.

Thanks for the lovely words at Intelligensia. Humbled.

Hahahaha oh your comments really just make my day. :D
I'm afraid I can't exactly take requests, as the trivia that I share is only the trivia I've stumbled upon (a great big pile of it in one, albeit). I could try my best to find some trivia on those you requested but I can't promise anything, I'm afraid - you know what someone needs to do? Publish a gigantic book of Old Hollywood trivia. I would buy it in a flash, it would just be so. damn. juicy.

Ava certainly does have an amazing fire about her, doesn't she? I wish, wish, WISH they still came as feisty...

Oh and I would probably post more pictures of myself (and my Christina Hendricks-esque body haha) if I had a reason to - for a fashion blogger, I don't have much in the way of interesting clothes. I was hoping that would change once I got a job but it's not enough hours to fund a fashion addiction, so I just write about what I know, rather than what I am (and wear etc) I guess...

Thanks again for all of the support (and laughs - I needed that after my crappy day)! :D

Hi Dusk...
You put to rest the idea that beautiful people are generally dumb...
Besides the awesomeness you bring on board with your breath taking looks*I can go on n on about that now* what strikes about you is also the way you write...

There’s a deep n mature take on random n casual stuff...
And with a dash of humour...you make the read as interesting as the beckoning pics....

Like saying...we must have lazy times to do nothing, otherwise what’s the point of being busy...
Outstanding!
The elementree knowledge about you and keeping your foot off the mouth...
Helloooooooo we have a great writer here too in that gorgeous body:-)
