The Butterfly Effect

"...is a metaphor that encapsulates the concept of sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory; namely that small differences in the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system."

So in English... be the change you want to see*... see the change you want to be** and go get 'em cowgirl [and cowboy.  This is an equal good opportunities blog].

It's also what happened when I saw this, this morning (look left to my sidebar facebook window if you don't want to click the link)... hence the hybrid butterfly/cowgirl [buttergirl? cowfly? buttercow?...ahhh... flygirl!] look I subconciously went with today!

...and yes that is my darling husband watching me 'push and hold' in the background of the 2nd pic!  He finds it all rather amusing and enjoys taking my photographs for me but today was a self-shoot day.  I prefer self-shoot days, it satisfies the control freak in me and I get to boss myself around... J

This is a heavy photo post... more after the jump...

wearing:
butt-fly -no kidding!!  the zip is at the back!- charcoal jeans * black v-neck knit, in fact the same one I wore in this push and hold post! actually same colours too! * orange silk paisley patterned butterfly winged skirt/poncho/top * country boots * vintage black suede & shearling trim jacket * gold alumesh & perspex belt * various bits of jewelry and oh... butterfly lens sunglasses.

I much prefer your beautiful butterfly creation, Dusk! Mahatma and you are both rocking my world, I shall stop pontificating and get on with something constructive.
I'd love to watch you bossing yourself around, I need lessons. I'm far too soft on myself. xxx

Looking lovely as usual, Dusk! The butterfly-scarf-skirt is so beautiful. I'm a control freak and prefer taking my own pictures, too - I had to giggle at your husband watching in the background! Oh and the gold nails - soo so pretty.

Wow, I love the ones where you are flying. How did you manage to do this by yourself? I think the longest my camera has is a 10 second timer. You've got a serious hustle if you can make it from the camera & up that pole in 10 seconds! ;D

Wonderful moving pictures, Dusk. Noone wears colours like you do. And I just like the guy staring at you... He seems to have disappeared after a while (or did you shoo him off?)

Namaste from India. The words- The Butterfly effect, I had first heard from my Guruji- Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of Art of Living. He ha said that a butterfly flapping its wings in the jungles of Africa can cause an avalanche in Antarctica. So be very careful of your actions and its repercussions.
I love your outfit and your self clicked pictures.
I love your butt fly, the poncho paisely skirt, gold nails, butterfly glares. You carry things with panache.

I really want to know how you create that moving effect in your pictures- like the flowy skirt. How do you do it? Earlier also, I was so mesmerized to see your blog post of tree pose- You merging in the tree. Please tell me how do you do it?

You can even email me at

Love the first pic!! in fact I love, love this shoot..its stunning!! How do u come up with these poses? they not only convey the beauty of ur outfit but also the thought behind the shoot..i can totally visualize u flapping away:-)

the outfit really emphasizes ur narrow/long waist and wearing a poncho like a skirt is such a great idea!!

I love ur motto " Visualize, Actualise. Dont fantasize"..I really need u to send some of ur postive energy my way. There is so much stuff I want to do for my blog and otherwise but very low on motivation:(
